Deriv Expands in Cyprus with Nicosia Office Launch

This initiative aligns with Deriv’s aim to solidify its European footprint. With 25 years of industry expertise and operations spanning 20 global locations, the company views Cyprus as an integral player in the online trading sector. Already operating in Limassol, Deriv considers the island a strategic hub for fintech and trading innovation.

“Cyprus is pivotal to the online trading industry. Nicosia is a good choice due to its solid reputation as a thriving hub for research and tech,” said Rakshit Choudhary, Co-CEO of Deriv. “Our investment here not only strengthens our operational framework but also allows us to tap into the vibrant ecosystem that Cyprus has cultivated.”

Moreover, as revealed in a press release exclusively, the new Nicosia office will primarily serve as a technology development center. It will focus on cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and programming solutions, signifying an expansion of Deriv’s tech capabilities. The facility will feature collaborative spaces, modern workstations, and meeting rooms to support its operations.

“This expansion seeks to attract forward-seeking minds who are not only looking for career opportunities but to accelerate their professional growth through the dynamic roles,” said Andreas Potamitis, Head of Nicosia Office. “Deriv offers extensive opportunities for professionals to work on AI-powered trading solutions, advanced platforms and sophisticated projects, all without the need for lengthy commutes.”

New Tech Hub

As part of this expansion, Deriv is actively recruiting for positions such as Trading Analysts, DevOps and WinOps Engineers, and Low Code/No Code Developers. The company, which holds Platinum accreditation from Investors in People, highlights its commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and employee growth.

In mid-December 2024, Deriv participated in the IMH Career Fair, where it showcased its career opportunities and future plans to prospective candidates.

However, the move to open a second office in Cyprus underscores Deriv’s strategy to tap into local talent and enhance its presence in Europe. Serving over 2.5 million traders worldwide, the broker offers diverse trading options across more than 200 assets on its platforms.

A few weeks ago, Deriv advanced its trading offerings by introducing “Tactical Indices,” an innovative tool designed to automate portfolio rebalancing and improve user efficiency.
